Kerala Small Industries Development Corporation (SIDCO) has 9 Production Units spread all over Kerala State and engaged in various processes of manufacture and rendering certain strategic service. All these Units were taken over from Government or started as per the direction of Government. The main customers are Government Departments, Public Sector undertakings and other Government/Quasi Government agencies, ISRO, VSSC, Brahmos etc. The State Government Departments and other government agencies can purchase notified furniture items from our production units without following tender formalities. About 100 persons are directly employed under the family of production Division
During 2023-24 this division has achieved a total production turnover of 22.08 crores.
As a part of widening our business horizon and enhance more items to the current business portfolio and thereby increase the turnover, we have installed new machinery and modernized various production units of SIDCO. With the help of these machines we are planning to act as a common facility center for MSME’s and also to general public. ThusSIDCO Production Division played a pioneering role in Kerala’s furniture manufacturing and mechanized production industry by introducing large-scale mechanization and modern and scientific methods and sophisticated technical skill. With the help of Government fund majority of production units are well equipped with state of the art machineries and are ready for mass production. With rate contract the Government Order Government Departments, Public Sector undertakings and other Government/Quasi Government agencies can purchase articles mentioned in rate contract GO without tender formalities.
Production units of SIDCOcan be grouped under 3 categories according to their function.

1. HIGH PRECISION MACHINE CENTERS:
- Tool room cum Training Center - Kozhikode
- Govt. Instrument Workshop, Pappanamcode, Thiruvananthapuram
- SIDCO Tools – Umayanalloor, Kollam
Enables SIDCO units to undertake and execute the high precision machine works of ISRO, BEMEL, HAL, BRAHMOS etc. Apart from executing precision works of the said companies we have identified new products which can be manufactured with the machines proposed in this project, such as precision machining jobs, Moulds, Dies, Blow Moulds, Fixtures, Jigs Etc.
2. STEEL FURNITURE AND FABRICATION CENTERS:
- Pressure Die Casting Unit - Pappanamcode, Thiruvananthapuram
- Service Workshop - Ollur, Trissur
- Strawboard factory –Parumala, Pathanamthitta
Pressure Die Casting Unit, SIDCO Service workshop, Ollur, and SIDCO Straw Board Factory, Parumala are equipped with machineries required for executing works from Kelton, KAMCO, Brahmos, ISRO and such other departments that may have requirements for fabrication works. Apart from this work manufacture of new products proposed with help of these machines are Kitchen Equipment, Biogas, Lab Equipment, Indoor & Fitness Equipment, Steel Furniture, LED Street Lights, Play Equipment, Freezers, School Lab Equipment, Cleaning Materials, Modular Kitchen, Water Purifiers, Office Stationary, Hospital Furniture, High Mast/ Mini Mast Poles,Compactors,StainlessSteelWaterTanks,LED & Solar Street Light Fittings, etc.3.
3. WOOD FURNITURE MANUFACTURING CENTERS:

All Wood Workshops are the production units under Kerala SIDCO, a Govt. of Kerala undertaking, with more than 40 years of experience in furniture making. The unit is engaged in the manufacturing of wooden, steel hospital, computer, laboratory, house hold furniture, wooden and aluminum fabrication. Wood Workshops, known for its quality and accuracy is the major supplier of furniture to the leading government and private firms all over all districts

COMMON FACILITY CENTER
All nine production units shall act as common facility center where all our production units shall have state of the art machineries and other facilities which can be utilized by the MSMEs for their manufacturing and other support activities. MSMEs are mostly unequipped due to lack of funds or due to other reasons, are not able to compete with the competition in the market. SIDCO, while producing our own products to make the investments viable could support MSMEs across Kerala to compete with giants in the market. These production units also facilitates as common facility center where the technology and facilities may be utilized by small scale manufacturers and general public. They can also entrust design works and wood related contemporary works to our units.
HIGH PRECISION MACHINING CENTERS.
TOOL ROOM CUM TRAINING CENTER, OLAVANNA SIDCO Tool Room cum Training Centre to undertake manufacturing of Industrial Products like Aero Space Components, Injection Moulds, Blow Moulds, Rubber Moulds, Die Casting Dies Jigs, fixtures, cutting tools, gauges, all kind of Machining Works etc.
SIDCO TRTC has signed two rate contract agreement with ISRO in the year 2014 and 2015 and now the same has been extended. On the light of this rate contract, we have proved our capability by undertaking critical jobs for ISRO and ISRO has given us several opportunities including to be a part of RLVTD project, HSP project etc.
- Sidco Tool Room Cum Training Centre is one of the regular and reliable vendors of VSSC/ISRO for realization of Precision Mechanical System for Launch Vehicles.
- Successfully delivered many Pyro - Devices and Control Actuation System for the programmes of ISRO
- Currently, we are entrusted with realization of various Pyro System hardware for the prestigious Gaganayaan Programme (Human Space Flight).
- Two Rate contract agreements from ISRO
- Recently we got approved as a vendor of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) thereby expecting more of the orders.
